Halswell House Wedding Photography

18th April 11

Well, it’s been a busy few months and we’ve been lucky enough to have shot some beautiful somerset weddings.  I’m going to try and blog most of them over the next few weeks, but thought I’d start with Amy & Stuart’s wedding at Halswell House way back in January… I’m not sure where the time goes!

Here are some shots from the day:

More to come soon!

The Times Newspaper

20th December 10

When I agree to shoot a wedding it’s obviously a commitment that I take very seriously.  However, I was a little worried on Saturday I must admit!

Kira and Trevor’s wedding was in the Quantocks and the weather was awful; snow, ice and fog; so after calling every car shop the day before only to hear they were sold out of snow chains, I decided to allow 3 hours for the supposedly 50 minute journey and had to replan routes several times to avoid ending up like one of the many ditched cars I saw on route.  Anyway… a long ‘white knuckle’ story short… I made it in good time and a wonderful day was had by all.

Sadly the Groom’s parents couldn’t make the journey from Northern Ireland but he remained cheerful in the face of adversity and spirits remained high a joyful.

One of the guests was a reporter for the The Times newspaper and she wrote an artical about the wedding, which features one of my photos in today’s copy.

Here’s a scan from the online version:

A couple of the photos were also shown during an interview with Kira & Trevor on ITV’s Daybreak program this morning, but I didn’t find out until after the show - oops!  I spoke to the producer who’s going to try and send me a copy, which I’ll post some other time.

I’ll blog the rest of the wedding photos in the new year!

Gants Mill Wedding Photography

20th December 10

Kara & Tom’s wedding was set at the beautiful Gants Mill in Somerset.  Kara, Tom and all their guests certainly made the most of the day, from an emotional outdoor ceremony in glorious sunshine, right up until Tom’s musicial friends and even his own band had people dancing late into the night!  Great venue (Greg at Gants Mill is a superb organiser and lovely guy), great crowd, beautiful ceremony and a BIG party.

Also, a massive thanks to Albert Palmer for helping out and assisting me for the whole day.

Here’s some shots:

Somerset Wedding Photography - Sarah & Paul

5th October 10

Sarah & Paul were married in Wedmore Church which is only 10 minutes from Cheddar where we live, so I was able to meet them both several times before the wedding which was lovely.  They’re both really outgoing and vibrant people and we all got on so well that they actually feel more like friends than clients now.

Here’s a few photos from the day itself:

Thanks also to Sarah and Paul for their lovely Russell How Photography Review!

Devon Wedding Photography - Jess & Joey

4th October 10

Wow!  Has it been so long since my last blog post?!  How does that happen?!  Anyway, it’s been a busy couple of months and I wasn’t really sure if I should just post a selection of photos from all the weddings, or a few of my favourites from one.  In the end I decided to share some of the photos from a particularly lovely wedding in Devon

Jess & Joey are so happy together that you just can’t help but feel good around them.  Laura and I were with them for the whole day and the time just flew by.  I started with Jess and the girls first thing in the morning whilst Laura stayed with Joey and his best man… here are some photos from the day:

Then on to Tiverton Town Hall for the morning ceremony:

Then back to Witheridge Parish Hall for the reception which was decorated with the most beautiful flowers; and oragami made by Joey!

Don’t forget to check out our Somerset Wedding Photography website if you want to see more of our work; thanks!

Wedding Photography at Knowle Manor in Somerset

21st July 10

We had the pleasure of shooting Damien and Beatrice’s Somerset Wedding at Knowle Manor recently.  Knowle Manor is situated in beautiful countryside near Dunster in the Quantock Hills.  Damien and Beatrice really made the most of the stunning location by spending the whole weekend there with their friends and family, so it really was a lovely wedding weekend!

Here are a few of the photos:

The Photography Parlour in Bristol

5th July 10

OK, so this blog post is a little late due to my wedding photography commitments, but hopefully it’s better late than never!

I’m an avid follower of Rosie Parsons’ new website The Photography Parlour which is a fantastic source of tips and techniques for professional and aspiring photographers.  A few weeks ago Rosie organised the first Photography Parlour get together in Bristol on a beautiful yacht called The Harmony II.

It was a chance for lots of photographers to meet up and share ideas and techniques whilst working with some very talented models, make up artists, caterers and table stylists.  If you like any of the decor, flowers, cakes, dresses etc etc, then please check out the links at the bottom of this post!

Here are some of my favourite shots from the day:

Somerset Wedding at St Audries Park

24th June 10

I had the absolute pleasure of photographing Sangeeta & Symon’s wedding at St Audries Park recently and it was such fun!

St Audries Park is situated in the Quantock Hills in Somerset and is one of my favourite venues.  The house itself is beautiful and the staff are exceptionally friendly and accommodating, so if you’re looking for a venue for your wedding this is a must to check out.

San and Symon are an amazing couple with loads of cool friends; so of course the wedding was packed with character and vibrance.  I was with them from mid-day to mid-night and tried to capture the day in a way that reflected their personalities and love for each other; so I really hope I’ve done them justice.

Here’s some of my favourites which were really hard to choose!

Yep!  The groom DJ’ing!

And the bride singing her heart out!

Massive thanks to San and Symon for inviting me to shoot their wedding and for letting me use their photos on my blog!

Wedding Photo Booths in Somerset

24th May 10

We set up our first wedding photo booth last week and we’re going to offer them to all our clients in future as it was such fun!  You can either bring your own background and props (as Helen and Toby did in the photos below) or we will provide them.  The whole thing only takes about 20 minutes and the guests have a brilliant time either posing for the camera or watching what ideas other people come up with!  Get in touch if you’d like a photo booth at your wedding!

Here’s a few of my favourites:
